The set was previously used for Wandavision. Agatha lives in the house used in the television series Bewitched (1964). Featured in WatchMojo: Top 10 Shocking Reveals of the Day on Disney Plus (2021). I went into Agatha All Along without any preconceived notions or without any insight into the story.
I felt cheated and annoyed
So it wasn’t until I dug in and watched episode 6 (?) that I realized there was a connection to the Marvel Cinematic Universe – specifically WandaVision. After I got engaged to Agatha All Along, I took a break and had to watch WandaVission. While WandaVision has some critical element as a prequel to Agatha All Along, it’s pretty tangential (and – IMO – a much weaker show than Agatha All Along). I finished E6 and then started E7-E9 and I really have to appreciate the exhibition.
The acting is excellent, Hahn as Agatha stands out
The scenes have an unusual, original perspective during the performance. Mostly the trials the characters go through and their growth is well done. The show maintains an engaging adult storyline without the usual sugar where everyone turns out to be okay in the end. While I don’t think the MCU connection was necessary, it is.
And that does not detract from the overall show
